Obituary of Te Anh Trieu

Te Trieu, 86, died on the 23rd of June, 2019 in Anaheim, California, surrounded by his spouse, children, and grandchildren at his side. He was born on the 15th of May,1933 in the province of Guan Dong, China. At the age of 3, he immigrated to Saigon, Vietnam, where he spent the majority of his childhood and adulthood. Te was remembered for his bright smile, energetic personality, and passion. He loved music and dancing, and became a drummer for a band in Vietnam, where he met his beautiful Jenny, who was a singer. He played with an unforgettable energy and smile, and was not only recognized by all in his community, but loved. In addition to playing the drums, he could also play the piano and compose music. His band rose to prominence and was featured in the Vietnamese and Chinese newspapers on several occasions. During the period of political unrest in the 80s, Te worked at the Phillipine Refugee Processing Center in the province of Bataan, Philippines. He helped Vietnamese, Cambodian, and Laotian refugees find safe resettlement. Te was able to learn basic English and a few Tagalog phrases. He was known for his love for culture, languages, and people. In 1986, Te immigrated to Boston, before reuniting with his spouse, Jenny, and his girls, Staci, Brandy, Lisa, and Leanne, in California. He and Jenny worked in Quality Control at Weber Aircraft before retiring at the age of 60. During his retirement, he and Jenny liked to frequent Las Vegas, where they could enjoy the music and dancing they once did, and where he discovered his love for slot machines. He liked to travel, vacationing in Hawaii, embarking on cruises, visiting China, Hong Kong, and Vietnam. Te enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Kelly, Vivian, Jesse, Elaine, Ethan, Tylor, Nathan, Madison, Russell, and Paisley. He will be "Forever In Our Hearts"...
