Hoa Kim Dang passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on June 22nd, 2024 in Lakewood, California.
She was born in Rach Gia, Vietnam to parents Thuan Mai Dang and Ga Thi Nguyen. She loved and exceled in school, but stopped attending after 9th grade to help her family. She worked as a seamstress and met “the love of her life” Hiep Nghia Tran in 1968. They married in 1969 and had six children (Thuy, Nghia, Nhan, Hong, Le, and Christina). As a family, they later immigrated to the United States on July 9th, 1980. Hoa and her family spent their initial years in Virginia and Texas. They relocated to California in 1984 and immediately fell in love with the state. Hoa and Hiep worked hard to raise their children and bought their first home in Palmdale, California in 1989.
She later took great joy in her 12 grandchildren (Diamond, Brandon, Jeffrey, Kathryn, Troy, Max, Nio, Nathan, Melodi, Kira, Tatum, and Chloe Grace) and 2 great grandchildren (Dalilah and Leo). In her later years, she loved working as a manicurist because she loved people and interacting with others. But foremost, she loved spending time with her family, cooking for her loved ones, eating, traveling, shopping and finding “great deals.”
She is remembered by her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandkids, and extended family and friends for her kind heart, gentle soul, beautiful smile, and for being a great listener and friend to everyone. Hoa Kim Dang will never be forgotten for her unconditional love and care for each and every person that was fortunate enough to have known and loved her.
