Obituary of Hung Van Vu

Please share a memory of Hung to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dad had always been a self-made man.  Perhaps it was a survival skill he needed to get through two wars, to escape Communism twice and to start life from scratch multiple times.

In the years in America, he gave us all he had.  When I caught him crying on a toilet seat in our dilapidated apartment, he promised that he would take us out of that place in 3 years.  He got us our first house in three years and from there, our American dreams were built.  We never thanked him enough, however.

My father was a quiet, solitary man.  He enjoyed fishing and planting orchids and bonsai.  He loved to eat pho.  We will eat a bowl of pho 86 for you, Dad.

Love and miss you from all of us!
