Obituary of William H. McCloskey Jr

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.  John 14: 1-3

25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:  26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?  John 11:25-26

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalm 23 : 1-4

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 2 Cor 5:8

William H. McCloskey, Jr. (Billy) was born on March 20, 1963 to William H. McCloskey and Joanne Kasarski in Anaheim, CA.  A native californian, he went to Cal State University, Fullerton and worked in California all his life.  He went to be with the Lord in Heaven on July 24, 2022 leaving behind his loving daughter, Emily A. Lauro, and wife, Kristyn McCloskey.

Billy was a devout born again Christian and believer in Jesus Christ.  He was a kind, gentle soul, and a wonderful person with a loving heart for Jesus.  He was an honest man and loved the truth.  He was faithful in his walks with God and cannot tolerate any lies.  He was full of spirit, always about the Lord's business.  He always carried his bible wherever he goes, and it never left his side even when he went for doctor visits.  I can see his bible is worn and marked up so much with verses that he loved.

Billy was a faithful member of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa located in Santa Ana with Pastor Chuck Smith and Pastor Jon Courson for many years, and later served in the video livestream ministry at Refuge Calvary Chapel located in Huntington Beach with Pastor Bill Welsh when his health was still good.  Billy was also a member of New Life Christian Fellowship located in Garden Grove with Pastor Vincent Pham and Pastor Jason Truong in the latter years.  As his health declined when he was unable to move around outside with ease due to the pain, he was still preaching the gospels through his online friends, and people appreciated his heart and endearing love in sharing the gospels even in his bed with pain.  His bible was a great testimony of how much he loved God, and he always wanted to be with the Lord, waiting for the day to be closer to God.

Billy attended Cal State University of Fullerton with a double major and received a BS degree in Computer Science and in Math.  Billy had a long fulfilling career as a Software Developer starting at Rockwell International and over 20 years at Boeing.  He was a rocket man indeed, he developed software  for Boeing that controlled missiles and rockets.  He was gifted with a high intellect, and loved working on various programming and software codes for a variety of aerospace projects.

Billy was a great chef and loved to be in the kitchen cooking and baking.  He enjoyed baking professionally for family and friends.  One of his favorite dish was the tasty barbeque lamb, and Billy's Cream Cheese Pound Cake, that won over everyone's heart. Billy had a big heart and loved animals and pets all his life, especially the 3 birds, Cesaer, Betty and Becky and his 4 cats, Scooby, Oliver, Sydney and Pepper, and he always treated them with the utmost cares and love.  He often took good care feeding all the neighborhood animals including raccoons, possums, crows, and stray cats.  He even adopted a stray cat, Sydney, which became one of our favorite pets.  Billy will forever be in our hearts as we cherished his love for God, baking and animals.
